Just finished this a few minutes ago. I'm overly pleased with it at the moment (Maybe in the morning I'll come to my senses).

I'm insanely in love with the 12 new markers I just bought and used them profusely in this piece.

Oh, and this craptastic attempt at making a background for the piece... Dude, it's the best attempt at a background I've done in ages. I sooo need to learn to do backgrounds... but the ideas I came up with seemed that they would distract from the focus of the piece. I was gonna make a mirror and a manquein (sp?) but there didn't seem to be enough room on the page to make it look right, so I settled for t he thread and scissors near the foot of the page.

Anyway, as usual, it's trekmanlove. Garak and Bashir. <3 I love them so! As much as I always wanted Garak and Ziyal together (because I see myself as Ziyal) I knew in my heart that he belonged to the good doctor!

Oh wow, you've drawn Garak/Bashir too! Cool! I myself am not really a fan of DS9 for many reasons, but Garak/Bashir sure is one of the most working pairings on whole Trek-fandom. I mean, you could cut that chemistry with a knife xD And Bashir sure is rather cute, and I just have this thing for pairing cute oblivious ones to smart, mysterious, potentially dangerous people^^

Personally, I feel that DS9 is the most dynamic of the treks because since they are staying in one place (not roaming around in space) that they have more emotions to deal with than other trek. They have to 'put up' with people who are on the station for so many different reasons.

Bashir is adorable, though initially I wasn't as fond of him as I grew to be later on. When it was discovered that he was a 'mutant' things got much more interesting for me emotionally. And from the start Garak was so filled with mystery that I couldn't help but be instantly drawn to him. Not knowing his true past made me all the more interested in everything that he said or did, because you never knew how much or how little of it was actual fact. Probably this is why those two are my most favourite pairing ever!

I was also amused at Bashir's relationship with the dabo girl Leeta, as both of them were too attractive to make a viable match. *lol* He matches so much better with Garak! And when Ziyal came into the picture for Garak as a potential love interest (which was very one sided with the girl being the one making all the moves since we know Garak is taken with Bashir anyway) It felt very much like a Mary Sue to me, so I liked her anyway. *lol*

I dunno, I did notice that DS9 probably has the strongest scripts in general and somewhat most realistic approach on life in Star Trek world, but somehow none of the characters really grew into me. Most of them seemed so incredibly dull that I couldn't focus on anything. Well, Bashir really grew into me as well, but he and Garak especially were rather minor caracters that interest on those two just wasn't enough for me. To prove this point, I've actually seen whole DS9 series twice from begining to end, and I still cannot remember much anything that happened.

I think it must be that I liked Babylon 5 ayt the time more, and you know about trekkers and Babylon 5-fans xD Since I see myself as trekker I try not to advertise that I actually enjoy B5 more that DS9 xD

What I've gathered Garak really does flirt with Bashir heavily in his first appearances (god, that tension is incredibly gay), but then it's toned down. But still it's hard for me not to think Garak/Bashir, since god, it's so OBVIOUS xD

I've been wanting to try B5 for some time, because I hear that it does have that soap opera type of quality in it that DS9 also has. I really need to get my hands on that!

I can recommend that, Babylon % has somewhat darker tone to my eye, simply because it's world is built very differently compared to Star Trek that always has that optimistic subtext going on. I dunno could you really say that B5 is better, I think it's more about taste than anything else. And Walter Koenig (aka Chekov) acts as the bad gui in B5, which is cool.

Yes, that was another reason I wanted to watch it! I always loved Chekov.

I even have Walter's autobiography in my library.

ohh, that's real cool! Koenig is just awesome really, though since Chekov had rather little to do in Star Trek (though of course his bits were always fun)it's great to see him doing bit more acting on B5^^
