This is the first of my paper mache day of the dead skulls. I painted this in between commission projects and while I was waiting for paint to dry on other things, so it's taken a while to finish!
This is much much larger than the small clay skulls that I usually create. If you're interested in owning this one, please note me promptly, as I have a feeling that this one won't stick around long. Price is 15 dollars, but I'm not sure on shipping costs, as I've never shipped one of these before.
Your skulls never cease to amaze me! Every little precise, creative detail is awesome, and you just keep getting even more pro at it, if that's possible!! I love the flowery jaw, it's so pretty! n_n
Thanks, Coley!!!! With these large ones, I know I'm going to get a lot more... floral, since I'll actually have more room for that sort of embellishment. These large ones take a lot of time though, a lot more coats of paint, and a lot more spray sealer. There's just a lot more intensive and I know I won't be coming out with them as fast as I do on the tiny ones. They're worth it though.
At the moment I also have two skull masks half finished sitting around, but I don't see those getting done any time soon cause I have plenty of little commission skulls to work on. Not to mention the art trades and the story book illos that I'm supposed to be working on too! I've got a lot on my plate! Hope I can get enough of it done before the baby comes (6 weeks and 5 days or something in the countdown!!).
You did a beautiful job, as always, Angela. The small skulls are amazing in their detail, and the larger ones obviously allow you room to spread your wings. I like both approaches! Keep up the good work; I can't wait to see what you come up with next!
