Dr. Greg House and Dr. James Wilson (of FOX's medical drama: House, MD) playing toy trucks over Greg's house (Don't wanna say House's House... cause that'd sound weird).
There are a great deal of things in my work that I've been trying quite hard to improve upon lately. Two of them being borders and backgrounds. I used not to do borders or backgrounds, and I'm attempting both here, and am actually rather chuffed that it turned out anything like how I saw it in my mind. I don't usually see a complete drawing in my mind, border and all, but this one just came in a... flash of light... or flash of insanity or something of the like.
I'm also trying to improve my colouring ability (Not that it's working). I tried to go a bit 'darker' with my colours in this one, as I tend to use my lightes colours usually. Stil don't think I've got House's hair the right shade of dark brown... and I think my going darker was probably a bad idea when it came to the scruff...
I'm rather pleased with the likeness on this one. It's probably better than my previous two drawings of him, which is shocking concidering that profiles of faces are usually not my strongest point.
I'd have had this done a whole lot sooner had I not been having way way way too much fun embelishing the Nike Shox. I have never known a more sexy shoe... *heart flutters* The whole drawing was probably just an excuse to draw those shoes top and bottom.
Did I forget any of the toys seen in the episodes?? I hope not!
This thing was done on regular medium tooth paper and cut out round the edges and mounted on brown cardstock. My usual medium: Prismacolour markers and micron pens.
I don't own the caracters, yadda yadda, but I'd play toy trucks with them any day.
EDIT: Re-scanned this. Now with signature, darker hair for Wilson, and also, centered it better so Wilson's arm isn't cut off at the elbow like the last scan.
OMG! (And that's saying something, because I NEVER use netspeak acronyms!) It's gorgeous! The shoes! The SHOES! THE SHOOOOEEEESSS! I'm melting. *am now a mere puddle of goo on my keyboard and computer desk*
I LOVE it! The colors, the toys, House's jeans, his cute face, Wilson! I love it all and want to marry it and have lots of babies with it. You worked in so many wonderful details but I am especially tickled by the book titles. He has a whopping, dictionary-sized Kama Sutra book! And a book about Hugh Laurie! Perfect. I even love the little cartoonized House logo. I can't put any more coherent thoughts together. Me likey.

P.S. I love the border, too. I like the truck that's up in the right hand corner and how House's legs and Wilson's arm are breaking the boundary. Very well composed, visually.

The border and backgroud look fantastic!! This is a great scene! Love the Kama Sutra book in the shelf...*lol* Theres certainly alot of attention to detail for the viewer. Only one thing may I mention: Dr. Wilsons hair doesnt seem dark enough.

Unless you say house is house. Then, it's no longer possessive, but more like you think we're all idiots, and we don't know that a house is a house, so you're telling us, "A house is a house. Just like 32=32".
"and I think my going darker was probably a bad idea when it came to the scruff.."
I agree. But, it's not a big deal in my opinion, and doesn't affect the nice overall picture that it still is.
"The whole drawing was probably just an excuse to draw those shoes top and bottom."
So THAT'S why his shoes are so detailed.
I like that all the detail in it. Like just about every book has its own title, the shoes, the jeans, the border and its all good. I like how the peeps get to reach outside of it the border like that.
I think there's a lack of House fanart in general, and a lack of art of characters besides House in specific. *lol*
I loved putting titles on all the books. I even accidentally put a subliminal message in there with the top books. Didn't know till I'd finished and then I realised I'd written something about Havin' Mo Lovin' or something. *lol* Sometimes I even shock myself! The Kama Sutra was the first book that came to mind when I did this thing. Had to make it a delux huge giant picture edition so he and Wilson could crowd around eachother and stare at the pictures. *LOL*
I'm so glad you love this, as it's presently my pride and joy. I've been working very hard to improve myself, and I think this piece is a prime example of that.

Its very cool. (Like I said before)
I like it.
The dictionary and the kama sutra are the two thickest books there... so very fitting. *snerk*
PS: I think there's a severe lacking of Wilson art. Perhaps that should be rectified? *nod*
